        SPICY BBQ-TEMPEH SKEWERS

        Tempeh recommendation: Natural tempeh made from soybeans

        These BBQ skewers bring variety to the barbecue! Marinated tempeh in a spicy garlic and soy sauce, combined with colorful summer vegetables such as zucchinis and peppers. Leave to marinate overnight - and ready for the barbecue the very next day. Perfect as a vegan BBQ highlight and snack from the skewer!

        Ingredients

        • 200 g natural tempeh
        • 1 small zucchini
        • 1 red bell pepper
        • ½ red onion

          For the marinade:

        • 2 tbsp soy sauce
        • 1 tsp tomato puree
        • 1 tsp maple syrup or agave syrup
        • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped or pressed
        • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
        • 2 tbsp neutral oil
        • ½ tsp paprika powder (sweet)
        • Pepper to taste

        Preparation

        1. Cut the tempeh into large cubes.
        2. For the marinade, mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Add the tempeh cubes, mix well, cover and leave to marinate overnight in the fridge.
        3. The next day, cut the zucchini and bell pepper into similarly sized pieces and roughly slice the onion.
        4. Thread the tempeh and vegetables alternately onto wooden or metal skewers. (Wooden skewers should be soaked in water beforehand so that they do not burn on the grill).
        5. Grill the skewers on the barbecue over a medium heat for approx. 8-10 minutes until everything is nicely browned. For even more flavor, turn occasionally and brush with the remaining marinade.
